Hi. I'm Fanny Freckles

Making Mayhem is my passion.

I have always had a thing for wheels.

2 wheels, 3 wheels, 4 wheels…
If it could go fast and possible kill me, I was all for it.
Still am.

Growing up, I didn’t do typical “girl things”. Hell, I didn’t do typical things at all. Living outside the norm, I always felt a bit out of place. Sure, I could twist and turn to make myself “fit in” anywhere. But I never found that feeling of belonging. What I did find was the pervasive thought that something was wrong with me.

How many of us have thought that? ALL OF US.

What I know for sure is, there isn’t a damn thing wrong with me, or you, or anyone.

We have just been living our lives hanging out with the wrong people, trying to be something we’re not.

Stop twisting yourself into a pretzel trying to fit in. You are not a pretzel. You’re you. You broke the mold the day you were born, baby. Celebrate that shit.

Mississippi Mayhem celebrates you.

You can be different and belong.
You can be weird and belong.
You can be a greaser, a lawyer, a biker, a baker…
You can love hot rods, rat rods, street rods, perm rods…
You can be young at heart or an old soul…
It doesn’t matter how you roll.

Whatever it is you choose to do,
choose to do it as authentically you.

Cheers!
Fanny Freckles

Mississippi Mayhem

is a subversive celebration of you. One that offers connection through play and the acceptance of things outside the norm. Mayhem encourages you to challenge the status quo and supports you to do the things that inspire you.

FAQ

You've got questions, we've got answers.

It is true, Mississippi Mayhem is in fact in west-central Wisconsin. Mississippi is in reference to the river, not the state.

Mississippi Mayhem is a vintage motor festival. Restrictions are placed on vehicles in the immediate show area. We welcome all cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, whatever you have to attend. But, since we are trying to establish a certain nostalgic feel to the show, please understand that only vehicles meeting show criteria will be featured.

All cars and cycles up to 1976 are welcome. Pre-’65 criteria-met cars and pre-’75 criteria-met cycles are featured.

Refer to the car registration and cycle registration for more criteria details.

If you still have questions, contact me.

In a word, NO. The fairgrounds and our insurance does NOT allow dogs on the premise. Please leave them at home. Not in your camper, not in your car, not in the parking lotat home. You will not be allowed in with a dog.

Yes! Children are the next generation of hot rodders. We encourage you to bring them. Children 12 and under get free admission to Mississippi Mayhem when accompanied by a paid adult. Be forewarned that Mayhem nightlife may not be suitable for little eyes and ears. Use your own parental judgement. We are not responsible for curse words picked up over the weekend or trips to the principal’s office Monday morning.

HELL YEAH! Volunteers receive FREE ADMISSION to Mississippi Mayhem! We could not put on this show without the help of many, many volunteers. Please consider being one of them.

Volunteer registration opens in June. There are many jobs and shifts to choose from. You choose the ones you want.

All registration and assignments are done online in advance. You know exactly what, when and where you will be working, because you chose it. You can even sign up to work with friends!

Volunteer for 2 hours to receive free weekend admission. Anyone working 4 hours or more will also receive a free Mississippi Mayhem t-shirt. Snacks and beverages are provided for volunteers in the “Mayhem Makers” area.

Sign up here!

Items lost or found at the show may be collected/turned in at the MMHQ building. After the show, we will make every attempt to reunite found items with their owners. Anything not claimed at Mississippi Mayhem will be posted on our facebook page. If not claimed after one month the item(s) will be donated.

There are two areas of camping at Mississippi Mayhem. Featured camping: reserved for vintage campers within the show grounds. And, General Camping: an area just outside the main show grounds for modern-styled campers, trailers and vehicles. Both have access to indoor showers and bathrooms. No electrical hookups are guaranteed. See our camping page for more information.

So you just spent all of your money on beer and want to buy a t-shirt, but you are out of cash. Well, you have several options. There is not an ATM on the show grounds, but there are 3 in close proximity. Union State Bank and First Community Credit Union on either side of the intersection of Highway 16, both have ATMs. First Community Credit Union is within walking distance without having to cross the highway. For a no fee ATM, Kwik Trip is just down the road. It is a 2-minute drive, 10-minute walk.

With several thousand spectators and the Night of Destruction going on next door, parking is a precious commodity. We encourage all participants to drive their show cars and bikes to Mississippi Mayhem. Trailer queens are beautiful, but that is not what this show is about. If you feel the need to constantly polish your chrome and fret about a spectator inappropriately touching your ride, then this probably is not the show for you. There are no ropes and there is dust and spectators. Lots of them! All with grubby hands just itching to get fingerprints on your paint. Just kidding. In all seriousness, your vehicle will be treated with respect, but it will get dirty and it may get touched.

Trailer parking is only available for our swap and commercial vendors – NOT SHOW CARS. Unless you are bringing a vintage race car that is not street legal. Then we will talk.

The La Crosse Speedway Street Drags coincide with Mississippi Mayhem Friday night.

It is a separate event we encourage you to attend. 5 bucks to race or 7 bucks to watch.

There will be a separate bracket for Mayhem participants. See streetdragslax.com for more information.

Mayhem gives back

We like to think of Mayhem as a large extended family. We are a community who cares. We look out for each other and give support in times of need.

Through the generosity of its attendees, Mayhem is able to offer monetary assistance to a family each year.

All money from the Mayhem Midway games and the bar tips is donated to someone within the car community experiencing hardship.

If you know someone who could use a little extra love, you can nominate them to be our recipient of the year here.
